Insert tab in Documents Windows

The Insert dropdown is used for placing a wide range of visual additions into your text documents, such as graphics and tables.

Picture... – Inserts an image into your document from your computer's file system. Once a picture has been inserted you can fine-tune its various aspects by selecting the  Picture... option via a right click on the picture. The options there are separated into three categories, including:
 

● Colors and Lines – Features options to include color and lines to the picture adjusting their opacity levels, length, and width.

● Size – Includes options to set the picture's height, width, rotation, scale, or to set it to its original size.

● Layout – Defines how the picture interacts with the text around it Options include:

In Line With Text – Adjusts the image in line with the text
it has been inserted in.
Square – Text will align in a square around the image.
Tight – Text will align around the image.
Through – Text will pass through the image.
Top and Bottom – Text will align above and below the image.
Behind – Places the image behind any text in the document.
On Top – Places the image in front of any text in the document.
Table – Inserts a table that will automatically expand to fill the space between your document margins. You can specify the number of rows and columns using the creation grid. Once a table is inserted, a Table dropdown menu will appear to the right of the View dropdown. All of the available options there are detailed here.
Link... – Adds a hyperlink to any selected text. You can choose between a web addressemail address, or bookmark within the document by using the corresponding tabs at the top of the dialog.
 

Right-clicking on a hyperlink provides additional customizations:

Open Hyperlink – Opens the currently selected hyperlink.
Copy Hyperlink – Copies the currently selected hyperlink to the clipboard.
Edit Hyperlink – Edits the currently selected hyperlink using the Insert Hyperlink dialog.
Remove Hyperlink – Removes the currently selected hyperlink, leaving the display text behind.
Bookmark... – Adds a bookmark to your document. Bookmarks can be navigated to from the View tab.
Text Box – Insert a text box at your cursor's position.
Comment – Inserts a comment to the right of the page. Ideal for explaining or underlining important information within the document.
Footnote – Allows you to add a numbered footnote to the current page.
Endnote – Allows you to add a numbered endnote to the last page of the document.
Header – Allows you to write text in the header of the current page.
Footer – Allows you to write text in the footer of the current page.
Page Number – Provides options for numbering your pages, such as the number format, alignment, and starting position.
Symbol... – Adds a bookmark to your document. Bookmarks can be navigated to from the View tab.

 

Insert tab in Documents Android

The Insert tab is used for placing a wide range of visual additions to your text documents, such as graphics and tables.

Page Break – Inserts a page break that moves the text after the type cursor to the next page.
Table – Inserts a table that will automatically expand to fill the space between your document margins. You can specify the number of rows and columns by dragging across the creation grid. Once a table is inserted, you can modify it under Table tab by tapping on it.
Picture – Inserts an image into your document from your Android file system. Placed images can be modified using the resize and scale anchors, and rotated using the protruding rotate anchor.
Web Picture – Perform an online image search and instantly insert a picture into your document (requires an Internet connection).
Camera – Allows you to insert an image using your devices' camera.
Shape – Allows you to insert a wide range of shapes, arrows, and callouts in your document.
Free Draw – Lets you draw custom line figures, which can appear over text and other document elements. Freehand draw pens can be customized from the Free Draw tab that appears when using the tool.
Link – Adds a hyperlink to any selected text. It can be a web addressemail address, or a bookmark within the document.
Bookmark – Adds a bookmark to your document. Bookmarks can be navigated to from the View tab.
Comment – Places a comment on a specific part of the text. This feature is especially handy for leaving feedback in group projects.
Footnote – Allows you to add a numbered footnote to the current page.
Endnote – Allows you to add a numbered endnote to the last page of the document.
Header – Allows you to write text in the header of the current page.
Footer – Allows you to write text in the footer of the current page.
Page Number – Brings up the page number menu, which allows you to add custom page numbers in a variety of locations on the document.
Symbol – Adds custom symbols from your installed fonts.

 

Insert tab in Documents iOS

The Insert tab offers a wide range of visual additions to your text documents, such as graphics and tables.

Picture – Inserts an image into your document from your iOS Photos app. You may be prompted to grant OfficeSuite access to your Photos for this feature to work. Placed images can be modified using the resize and scale anchors and rotated using the protruding rotate anchor.
Camera Picture – Allows you to insert an image using your iPhone or iPad camera.
Table – Inserts a table that will automatically expand to fill the space between the document margins. You can specify the number of rows and columns by dragging across the creation grid, or using the - Minus and + Plus icons underneath. Once a table is inserted, you can modify it under the Table tab.
Text Box – Inserts a text box in the document.
Shape – Selects a shape from the available choices and insert it.
Watermark – Inserts a watermark such as "Confidential", "Draft", "Copy" into the document.
Hyperlink – Adds a hyperlink to any selected text. It can be a web addressemail address, or a bookmark within the document.
Bookmark – Adds a bookmark to your document. Bookmarks can be navigated within Viewer mode.
Symbol – Adds custom symbols from your installed fonts.
Footnote – Allows you to add a numbered footnote to the current page.
Endnote – Allows you to add a numbered endnote to the last page of the document.
Header – Allows you to write text in the header of the current page.
Footer – Allows you to write text in the footer of the current page.
Page Number – Brings up the page number menu, which allows you to add custom page numbers in various locations on the document.
Tab – Indents the text one increment to the right.
Line Break – Inserts a line break that moves the text after the type cursor down by one line.
Page Break – Inserts a page break that moves the text after the type cursor to the next page.
