Password-protect a PDF on Windows

OfficeSuite PDF lets you encrypt your PDF files 

  • on a file level, allowing no one to view the file, unless they have the password, and/or
  • action level, restricting certain actions, unless they have the password. 

1. Open a PDF. In the File tab,
2. Select Info, select Protect Document
3. Select if you want to set the password for viewing and/or certain actions: 

  • Printing restrictions. Restrict printing to None, low or high quality. 
  • Extaction restrictions. 

4. Type and retype your password. 
5. Optionally, change the default AES (256-bit key) encryption algoritm to 128-bit or RC4.

 

Password-protect a PDF on Android

OfficeSuite lets you encrypt your PDF files

  • on a file level, allowing no one to view the file, unless they have the password, and/or
  • action level, restricting certain actions, unless they have the password. 

1. Open a PDF.
2. In View mode, tap the menu in the top right. Tap Protect, or 
In Edit mode, on the File tab, swipe the toolbar to reveal more options, tap Protect
2. Select if you want to set the password for viewing and/or certain actions: 

  • Printing restrictions. Restrict printing to None, low or high quality. 
  • Editing restrictions
None. Prevents users from making any changes to the PDF. 
Add or modify text annotations; Fill in existing form fields and sign existing signature fields. Lets users fill in forms and add digital signatures, add or change comments. 
Insert, Delete, and rotate pages. Lets users insert, delete, and rotate pages, and create bookmarks and thumbnail images. 
Any changesLets users edit the document as they wish. 

3. Type and retype your password. 
4. Optionally, if applicable, change the default AES (256-bit key) encryption algoritm to 128-bit or RC4.

OfficeSuite lets you encrypt your PDF files on a file level, allowing no one to view the file, unless they have the password, and/or

3. Type and retype your password.
